My learning

My learning is going okay so far...

            I am good at reading.

I don't know why, but I can read nearly any word. And I read a lot of books and memorise how to spell different words, so I am also a good speller. And I'm really fast at reading.

I am not the best at maths.

Maths is a bit hard for me because
  1. I wasn't taught roman numerals last year, so I don't know how to do it.
  2. I was sick for a whole week, which is fine usually, but that week we were learning about measurement.
  3. Same story with weights and mass.

vWhy maths on IXL is exciting.

I have already mastered NINE IXl skills, gotten NINE medals, answered SIX-HUNDRED-AND-THIRTY ONE questions and revealed THIRTEEN prizes. (this will change every time I do more IXL) So maybe I'm better at maths than I thought.

The poem

                            Whetu!
We are awesome
Help other people
Everyone is kind
Talks kindly
Un-mean  people
                                                       We are Whetu!

Power Play

                                       Power Play

During learning time, everyday except Thursday, we get to do Power Play. We have three spaces to choose from. Outside, the Cave and Ruma Tuhura. Outside we can make marble tracks, huts and basically anything we want. In the cave we can dress up, play with the kitchen set and, again, basically anything we want. In Ruma Tuhura we can play Twister,* Last card,** work on the puzzle*** and, once again, basically anything we want. And if we have some work we want to finish we can finish it in Te Hui during that time.

There are somethings we CAN NOT do.

  • No running into Te Hui where students are trying to work.
  • No shouting or screaming, but murmuring is aloud.
  • No hands on hurting or any sort of speech hurting.
  • No annoying People working or teachers.
  • No annoying other classes like Marama or Whenua.
  • No taking things if you can't put it back. For example, no gluing a pom pom to a piece of paper.
  • No taking things if you don't clean up after yourself.

What space would you want to play in. My favourite space is Ruma Tuhura. It's mainly because thats where most of the stuff is. But that doesn't mean you can't have fun somewhere else. And if I would add one more thing, it would be chalk, so we could draw outside, in the fresh air. Power Play is fun and a great new addition to Whetu.

Mothers day!!!!!

                                     Mothers day!!!!!

This picture reminds me of my Mum because she works at the Smart Environmental in Thames. She used to anyway. She stopped recently because she's having a baby boy and has to go to Hamilton to the hospital soon. I bet Mum's favourite colour is green because that's the Smart Environmental colour. Mum's job is sitting behind a desk and telling the recycling trucks where to go. She loves it. She has lots of friends there, and will probably have many more in the future.

                                             Happy Mothers Day Mum!!!
